Egads! I've committed blasphemy!

Who would have thought a BOOK would get me so riled up!
Despite knowing full well of the typical reviews on a Mr. Salman Rushdie, on the recommendation of a colleague at work I decided to delve into this novel which examines the life of one Saleem Sinai, and his trials and tribulations surrounding his life. Let's just say that after reading about 1/3 of the book, I enjoy Rushdie's emphasis on detail, but loathe the dismissing of religion and what I've seen so far as a demeaning of the Pakistani nation.
To be fair, I've only read one-third of the book so I'll give it a shot, but things ain't looking to rosy! But I must say, if you're not Pakistani or of Pakistani heritage, Midnight's Children is a pretty decent read (so far as I can tell!)
Yes I know I've been neglected my precious blog peeps (if there are any left, are you there?). Laziness prevents me from being my best, so I guess I'll have to pull up my socks and kick things up a notch so I can get my ass in shape for the coming school year!
To summarize what else has transpired over the course of the last two weeks, here it is in abbreviated form:
1) Thought my iPod was defective and panicked for days until realizing it was only a bad USB 2.0 port. After dropping another 30 to get a combo USB/FireWire port, Me is content and loving Podcasts (I highly recommend the CBC radio 3 podcast!)
2) Little brother got a job! Working at Island Inkjet filling up old ink cartridges. He isn't in love with the job, but it pays well, and can't be that bad when the biggest complaint he has is the fact that his hands stay black for a while after work!
3) I love my part time job! Not sure if I get on people's nerves with my talking, but I think I get along with pretty much everyone there! And on top of that, it seems like I'm actually well-liked (so long as I'm not Willie Lohman, that's a damn good thing!)
4) Kuhlaaa!!!!
That's all for now folks!

I've sold out - I bought an IPOD!

I never thought I'd see the day where I'd be exposed as a hypocrite. After waiting for about 2 1/2 years to find an IPOD-like music player, I decided I'd had enough when I saw a blue MINI on sale. Though still working out the kinks, have filled about half of it and am surprised by the quality of the earphones. After hearing so much about how they suck, I've found they're not as bad as reported. Though I must say for that kind of cake you'd think Apple could throw us a frikkin bone!
Anyhow, getting ready to TRY to go to sleep at a respectable hour in order to get to the part time gig at the Rogers Centre tomorrow. Talk to y'all peeps tomorrow (yes all 2 of you!).

...And the Quest BeginsManchester United 2
| 45' | Rooney | ||
| 43' | van Nistelrooy |
Despite being asleep for the match (7:30 on a Saturday morning is hard to get up for!), the boys came through for a 2-0 victory over Everton. Now I gotta bust out my support for Wigan tomorrow as they take on Chelsea (I haven't the faintest idea of where Wigan and would be honestly shocked if they could pull this off!)
Post numero deux
I'm getting all hyped up for the opening of the new season of English Premiership football (or soccer if you must). Being a Manchester United fan, the thought of being drubbed again is agonizing, as I have a Liverpool lovin' brother, and an Arsenal die-hard cousin, which makes for some interesting debate. Let's just say a few water bottles are emptied and fisticuffs ensue. OK OK, so the fisticuffs culminate in me slapping my brother on the cheeks, but it's better than nothing right?
Before I get the haters to respond to this, yes I AM wearing a Bayern Munich shirt in my profile photo, which to casual readers is akin to wearing an Osama bin Laden t-shirt on a tour of the White House - just not right. Collecting jerseys is a hobby of mine, and seeing as I had a German cousin flying in a few years back and didn't want to have to deal with pretending to like receiving cologne's I had never heard of, I thought the shirt would be nice to ask for. I think it's the sleepiness in me that's starting this rant so I think it's time I lumber off to bed. Talk to y'all Naveed-ites soon!
Manchester United v. Everton - 7:30 AM on Rogers Sportsnet (for those who can bear to wake up that early on a saturday), I'll have my Red Devils scarf on!

Hello World!
#include
int main()
{
printf("Hello, World.");
return -1;
}
For y'all who haven't studied programming, that's the
official "hello world" program 99.99% of people are
taught once introduced to programming. The tie-in with
the title might be cheesy, but I'm all about the Velveeta!
Hopefully I'll manage to keep things up to date and garner
a HUGE fan following, allowing for some Naveed groupies!
I've been told by many people that I should write a book
detailing all of my life's small tidbits and adventures, so I
suppose this is my first step (or shove) in the right direction.
Peace out y'all, and see you soon!
