The Long Road Ahead...

Back from the dead for another Naveed report of musings...

Been working the long hours at the Rogers Centre, doing the darndest that I can. With Boston in town I expected a rush, but for whatever reason (school I'm guessing), things were generally very quiet for the series. Mind you my tuesday was wash, working from 10 a.m. to 10:30. p.m. doing jobs as tedious as stuffing envelopes to jobs as interesting as convincing a customer that there were no more Vernon Wells bobbleheads (I swear there weren't!).

Today had me doing an "advance" shift. Now there's nothing false about the name (it is for the purchasing of tickets for upcoming/advance games), but the advance moniker kind of gives a pompous-y ring to the title. No problems I must say to be honest, though I just found out I may have made a fool of myself in an infomercial for Blue Jays tickets (surprise, surprise!). The last hour of my day at work today consisted of me serving a few customers and watching my bootleg copy of Stewie Griffin : The Untold Story . I Highly recommend the release to anyone who even remotely enjoys Family Guy.

Tomorrow's the big day though, with a weekend series against the famed interlocking NY : The New York Yankees. I can't stand them for so many reasons, specifically as their "fans" tend to be pompous pricks who WERE jays fans when we were winning! Though I must say I give a flier to any Yankee fan (a) from the U.S. OR (b) who can name at least 10 Yankee Hall of Famers without looking it up. Though I'm not a Yankee fan, here are the names of the top of my head that would classify me as a Bronx Bomber fan, according to the system:

Mickey Mantle
Reggie Jackson
Joe DiMaggio
Lou Gehrig
Babe Ruth
Roger Maris
Whitey Ford
Yogi Berra
Catfish Hunter
Phil Rizzuto
(I'll be honest, I had to double check on a few of those, but I at least knew who they were!).

That's about it for now, blog peeps, though I must give a shout out to a Mr. Nguyen, who I have a feeling knows about this blog and refuses to admit, yet coyly mocks me about it!

L8er y'all!
