Seduced by Success, Disabled by Dissappointment...

Hey World!

Lots of stuff to gab on, so little time. I'll try to summarize as best I can...

Finished exams finally! Had ENOUGH stress the past few days studying, but I now finally have some free time to myself. Mind you Ryerson gave me quite the scare when they called the next day for an "urgent matter". It ended up being a clerical error where they thought I missed an exam. For some reason they were of the thinking that I was registered in CPS611 when in fact I'm in the CPS613 course. Anyhow it worked out.

A lot of the remainder of the week was spent working at the Rogers Centre (aka The Cable Box). I could probably dedicate numerous posts to what's transpired the past few days but I'll try to condense matters...

TUESDAY
Toonie Tuesday with a walk-up crowd less than I expected. Nothing TOO out of the ordinary that I can remember.

WEDNESDAY
Normal day with a normal walkup right before the game. Of course that all changed about 10 minutes to game time when a few ladies came to my window and asked to pick up their complimentary tickets. Mentioning that they were under three separate names, I requested ID to which I received the response "We only have ID for two of us, our friend's lost our purse but it's under Benson". I innertly moaned at the prospect of perhaps not being able to give tickets for lack of ID, and went to the trays. Once I checked the tickets under the *B* filing, I had to take a quick re-look back at the windows. Why you ask? Anna Benson was at the frikkin box office!

For those not in the know, she's the wife of Orioles picther Kris Benson and was recently on the cover of FHM magazine, notably as "Baseball's sexiest wife". She's ranked 29th on their sexiest women for 2006. I'll be honest though - and I hate to say this - but I wasn't as impressed as I would have expected. Don't get me wrong, she's lovely and all, I've just seen better looking women. There are at LEAST a dozen women BEHIND her on the FHM list who I think are better looking. Then again, I must admit, seeing her in person did make my day as I had a grin from ear to ear for the rest of the shift. I was dissappointed, but not BLIND!!!

THURSDAY
A bit of a slow day on the job. Day started off well enough with us joking about a certain M. Jackson who had tickets left for him in the trays. We all quibbed that it just might be the gloved one, in which case Jamie joked "Let's make sure he's not in the family zone!". A few Jesus Juice jokes later, the night was a rollin'.

After about the 5th, things got pretty loose as some of my 'homies' gathered around to do the usual gabbing and gossip. Of course for some reason the topic du jour was sexual relations, and seeing as I have nil experience in the matter, I was a bit red in the face. Ok, so I was blushing like a schoolgirl at every little mention of details! Of course it would have been so much better had fantasy, kinkiness, sex toys, and babies didn't come into the conversation. I just might have heard the scariest fantasy EVER! (I still don't know how to approach this person after they revealed this blush-inducing tale :P ).

Let's just say that your boy just might come to gate 9 as a mullah next week, kinda like this...

FRIDAY
Went downtown for the season ticket printing lunch party at Grace O'Malley's. Of course I got late and ended up running like a chicken with its head cut off in search of people. Luckily it all worked out and great time was had. While most people stayed for quite a bit, four of us stayed for almost 8 hours at the place! And boy oh boy did we have a good time, maybe TOO good if you know what I mean. Wait a sec, let me rephrase that, we had a few drinks and shared a few laughs, no OTHER good times :P

While at Grace O'Malley's, I learned the following:
- Bird nest is a Chinese delicacy
- What a Strawberry Shortcake is
- Who it was who posted "the comment" (well i'm 90% sure now!)
- Dickie is on our side!
- I'm not the only one with a witch problem!
- Having the name Scott inherently guarantees a high alcohol threshold
- What Jamie and Rick's three-fingered salute meant!

That's it for now. Later B*tches!

How to end terrorism?

http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_1799211.html

Porn star's offer to Bin Laden

Italy's most famous porn star Cicciolina has offered herself to Osama Bin Laden.

La Cicciolina /AP

The 55-year-old actress said it was about time somebody tackled the terrorist and claimed she could be just the woman for the job.

Speaking at an erotic fair in Bucharest, Romania, Cicciolina said: "It is time someone did something about Bin Laden, and I am ready to do it.

"I am ready to make a deal, he can have me in exchange for an end to his tyranny. My breasts have only ever helped people while Bin Laden has killed thousands of innocent victims."

The blonde porn star, whose real name is Anna Ilona Staller, pointed out that Bin Laden could learn from Saddam Hussein's mistakes.

In the 1990s she offered herself to Saddam Hussein if he gave up dictatorship of Iraq, and added that if he had taken up her offer "who knows what might have happened."

Maybe I'm Crazy, Maybe I'm Cool...

Hey guys and dolls,

Trying to pass the time before going to sleep, I managed to go on a few auditory adventures on the computer. Heard of the band Metric for some time and managed to hear their first album, Old World Underground, Where are you now?. I have to say I enjoyed it. Have the 2nd album and am hoping it's just as good. I dig the whole synthesizer work and dance feel to the music. Now only if they had a bhangra remix or two...

Work has been good I must admit. I sort of dig the whole dress shirt/necktie combo I have to wear now, it makes me feel like a big boy :P In all seriousness though, all it means is that I have more responsiblities, which really means more problems/stress to deal with (ESPECIALLY when Rogers Video calls!). I kid, I kid, I love those naive buggers!

My brother got accepted to U of T in the Life Sciences dept. I'm pretty glad about that, though I truly worry that he doesn't realize the gravity of going to "Canada's School of Schools". I'm sure he'll find out soon enough! In any event, I took him out for some Blizzards at DQ, my treat. I'm really thinking the Roethlisberger jersey he bought me is giving him great vibes and karma these days!

Also managed to listen to the Dilated Peoples new album, 20/20, and am officially a fan. I first heard of them back in '01 on my trip to the UK. My young cousin was obsessed with hip-hop music at the time and would always mention their name when talking of hot acts.

The funny thing is, the way I got exposed to the band is through a VIDEO GAME! One of the songs from the new album is featured on MLB 06: The Show. And since my brother is the video game addict of the family, I managed to hear it and love the song Back again. Oh and the song "Kindness for Weakness" featuring Talib Kweli is solid too.

On a completely different tangent, I've been noticing that my interactions with the opposite sex have polarized these days. There's no middle ground from what I can see : either I get totally hated on or get along great with the senoritas these days. I don't get it. And no, this isn't limited to work. Though admittedly work has been the sample size for the "experiment", I'm thinking that this "new 2006 Naveed" that I proposed in jest is coming into fruition. It's scary I know, but I just might get slapped, dissed, or start warfare with someone soon enough. Who would've thunk it!

What surprises me most about this whole new thing is that I thought I was reasonably well-liked. Now I'm understanding it's because I'm perceived as the naive, "brown" dude who says stupid things, bends over backwards all the time, and is too nice to ever retort when insulted. Yes, I do play on these qualties/faults at times, I'm just seeing now how many people can't see the distinction between my hyperbole and reality.

I hope people realize that I AM one sharp cookie, and do comprehend what pretense is. No, I'm not singling anyone out, but I'm hoping those who do engage in this sort of drama realize that I'm no fool. As my Dad always said (and this is basically a family motto), "If someone dares slap you in the face, slap them back doubly hard".

OK, on to a slightly lighter note, before I become a full on extremist Jihadi :P

Been searching for new videos to post online and found an old Ali G clip from his Channel 4 Series in the Uk back some 6 years ago. He goes to America for the first time and gets to meet Sally Jesse Raphael and go on the set of The Bold and the Beautiful. It's about 7 minutes and a total laugh. Definitely worth the watch!:

Stylin' and Profilin!

Hey y'all,

I think I'm going to put the "yaar" thing on hiatus. Especially as it seems as if this blog creates as many enemies as it does friends! I'll bring it out from time to time though, so fret not friends, I'm just being a little cautious.

Been studying for my exams in the coming 10 days. My first one is in T-Minus 9 hours and counting, and I still can't get to sleep. It's the first exam jitters - kinda like the first game in the playoffs, you just want to get it over with! I'm sure I'll be fine, but the nerves are semi building...

Realized I've made yet another enemy at work it seems, and if you dare to ask me in person, I'll let you know. Let's just say I'm ready to snap at any moment if this person even begins to try something with me soon. I'm getting my verbal assault ready, so watch out, there just might be a sight to behold in the near future from the Pakistani Prince (or Pauper, I want to be at least a bit modest).

My Chicago plans are 40/60 at this point. Stupid passport intricacies are causing delays. After FINALLY getting the photos and paperwork done, my mom took the papers to our family doctor to get signed as a guarantor. She got hers and my brothers' done no problem, except for some reason they refused to do mine. We transferred our family files to this doctor about 7 years ago and for some reason since I haven't gone in the last 5 years I have no file and they refused to sign it for me! Which isn't so bad, I can always get my optometrist to sign. I'm just worried about my medical records, who the hell has them now! I don't want to be an invalid!

I haven't been able to attend work too much recently because of studying, but it was crazy busy today for the Yankees on a "Value Game" where tix started at $2. Good thing the team finally found a way to win in front of a crowd! Now it's just a matter of stringing a few together, and I might start believing the hype. I ain't going to believe it 'till I see it (though I'm admittedly a tad excited).

MOMENT OF THE WEEKEND

Going to a family friend's home (where I loathe going), and getting questioned by the "Uncles" repeatedly on anything and everything. Which I expected, until the next day when my mom asked me what I thought of their daughter! And she didn't mean it in a platonic sense! This was the first time she was semi-serious and it almost made me p*ss myself thinking about it! Plus, there's NO WAY I want in-laws like that! So if there are any fine honeys with non-intrusive family members, give me a 'holla!

That's it for now, methinks a bit of rest is due before the big test! L8er!!!

P.S. Oh yeah, Pakistan one the first ODI match against India today, woohoo!

Haaaw Hai!

Hey yaars

Hope all is well on your end, wherever you're reading ths from. Things are cool on my side, just wasting time before buckling down and studying for exams. The video above is a bollywood "remix" by some British blokes which I think sounds ok. Thought you guys and gals might want a taste of the cornucopia of music I listen to.

Got the hair cut today. Little did I realize how much it had grown in a few months. I feel very fresh right now and am looking foward to that great "haircut night sleep" which is always relaxing. Be sure to mention whether or not you think the cut is good or bad. And please, none of that "it's different" stuff - that's just a way of saying it's ugly. That is one thing I always laugh about, nobody every says someone has had a bad hair cut. What's so bad about saying that? It's not like saying "You need a facial!". And sadly, I HAVE been told the latter comment back in the day (don't get me started on that crazy b*tch!).

Notes for the day:

- Looks like the Chicago trip is off again. After detailing the options to the mother. She backed off the idea of going cross-border. Airfare is too expensive, going by bus or train is too long, and the idea of her going by plane and us brothers by bus wasn't going well with her. So another summer in the Borough it seems!

- I'm impressed daily by my readership. Who would have thought my tidbits would be so interesting? If I've managed to help anyone at anytime in any capacity, you're welcome :P

- Got my taxes done today. We usually went to our uncle who passed away, and this year they had some temp's filing on his behalf. Normally we had it done sans payment, but figured we'd pay this time. My mom had heard from a friend that they charged about $50 for three. We ended up getting billed for $90, with my mom giving $70 and saying that this is the last time we go there. To think, all this hassle could have been prevented had she let me do it at home. Then again, that's one less thing I can get yelled at about!

- Swiss Chalet = crazy delicious!

- Now that the hair is cut, my beard may also lose some of it's hair. I'm pondering the trimming, but fear of looking boyish keeps me from doing something. Any suggestions?

- Heather Locklear is dating David Spade? Surely I have a shot with a hottie then! :P

- Read that Hydro One is planning to make a Wi-Fi network across Toronto and charge potential consumers about $20 a month. Ted Rogers is saying that this is an abuse of a monopoly. That comment alone made me want to download a few seasons of Seinfeld for his customer-unfriendly service.

- Blue Jays are 4-4, bring on the Yanks! ! !

Talk to y'all with some semi-coherent information soon!

In a few weeks, I might be here...

Hey cats and dogs,

Thought I'd do some house-cleaning and throw a few tid-bits here and there...

- Looks like I might actually go to Chicago after all. The Mom finally asked me to get the passport papers to fill out and she's been discussing it with her friends, making it a foregone conclusion. Now the only thing is when and how!

- I think I've found the new G-Unit and not in the unintentionally funny way. More in the "there's always something to say about this person" way. I'll let you all commence gabbing in attempts to guess who

- Still haven't gotten the hair cut. I last cut it in November and it's developing into one massive puff that takes a couple of minutes to fix every morning

- I officially can grow a decent beard. I looked at my old passport photo and at the time I thought I had a goatee. All I had was chin hair and a fuzzy peach moustache. Yay for me!

- Last week I mentioned how me and a buddy thought the mock nickname "N Bomb" might sound cool in a funny sort of way. Little did I realize that it had some racial connotation!

- Two things I don't mind over-spending on are fitted caps and neckties!

- Harvey's is addictive. Went there a few weeks ago with J-Fizzle and had a poutine. Have gone there at least once a week since. It's so wrong, but feels so right!

That's it, for now. Quick question for the ladies reading this, or even guys for that matter. How in the world can a guy know if a 'bird' digs him? Not that I have any admirers or anything, it was just a question on the mind.

I know the ladies are all about subtelty, but darnit I've been bamboozled by this art of pursuing the opposite sex. As I've told a few, apparently I had a girl totally fancy me back in high school without me knowing it! The sad part is, the feeling just might have been mutual had I known. Then again, I think the fear of an Ehsan-Ullah arse whupping would have been too much! My pops would have beat me black and blue had he the slightest suspicion. But I digress, as I know somehow further comment will lead to another occurrence of my trademark "foot-in-mouth" disease!

Chat with everyone soon, unless you think I'm too self-centered :P

P.S. - Cedric I'm still not forgiving you for making me sign out tix and having you not show. The "I'm sick" thing ain't flying. If I even get the SLIGHTEST inkling of any monkey-paw business. I'm driving straight down to the 'Loo to straighten things out !!! :P

Opening Day Is Here!

Hey yaars,

Before I get to the baseball side of things, I'll quickly re-cap my weekend. Saturday was spent at the box office seeing some familiar faces during their training session. Then it was off to a co-worker's birthday party, which went quite well actually. I'm sure though that I missed out on the good stories as I left earlier than most. Sunday was spent working on a report that's now 2/3 done and then was convinced by my brother to find a way to watch Wrestlemania on the computer.

After about an hour of work I managed to find a site that charged 4 bucks a month to watch PPV events. Of course it crashed only minutes later, so we went for a quick Dairy Queen run and got back just in time to see Shawn Michaels vs Mr. McMahon. Yes, I know at this point all you non-wrestling fans are tuning out but it was good fun. I haven't actively watched wrestling for about 4 years now but it was fun seeing Wrestlemania, it's like the Super Bowl!

On to Opening Day...

I'm super-excited! At the same time I'm a tad worried about how work will pan out as their are only General Admission tickets available and people just seem to be coming by the boatload and are surprised that we are near capacity. Somehow I'm thinking this either goes real well or is a disaster, time will tell. The team I think does have a chance, but I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch. I'm thinking the NEXT day is when I begin to have my fun with all the co-workers. For all you who are interested, my goals for the baseball season are:

- Go Gangsta' on someone (not sure who yet)
- Surprise everyone with something out of left field (though that could be very easy with some of the stuff I inadvertently say!)
- Find the new topic du jour to discuss on a daily basis
- Look as dashing and professional as possible in a dress shirt and necktie
- Think of some new ways to incorporate the whole "brown" thing

If anyone has any more ideas, feel free to holla at your kutha (that's dog for you non-desis). In the meantime, wish me luck tomorrow and have a good one!
