A Jays signing!

Over the past year or so, I've been marvelling over the pitching prowess of a certain NL pitcher named Zambrano, and today I was mildly surprised to see that the Jays have signed Zambrano. Too bad it's Victor and not Carlos!

I will be honest though, this seems to be a somewhat shrewd signing. Coupled with the Tomo Ohka deal, it solidifies a rotation with some back-end help. Admittedly they aren't studs, but they're both very servicable pitchers who'll eat up innings for the club.

Oh, and it's probably a good thing they didn't get Carlos. He's the dude that got me into watching the Cubs years ago. And after seeing him pitch live in the hostile confines of U.S. Cellular Field, he's the reason I like the Cubs.
