Peaks and Troughs
Hey yaars,
It's only ten days into 2007 and I've already been thrown into a storm or two to begin the new year. Huzzah! In the interest of fairness (and my best attempts at impartiality), I present to you what I've laboriously endured over the past few days:
- Having the latch of one of my car's doors ripped off by one of my mum's co-workers. Guess who's going to have to pay the nice body shop dude some money!
- Meeting up with one of my uncles who recently had a stroke. Thankfully he's ok and in good spirits. Yes, he asked about me getting married.
- Finding out the next day that another 'uncle' passed away while observing the pilgramage of Hajj. They say he was on the last loop around the Kaabah and just dropped. And while he was really just a friend of a friend of the family, with differing opinions than yours truly, I pray for him and his family.
-Watching the NFL without any sort of point spread to worry about. It wasn't as fun as I'd thought it would be. Here's to hoping I hit another luck streak of winning Pro Picks 3 times in a week!
-Glimpsing at Florida/Ohio St. to see if it would be anything like USC/Texas last year. It wasn't, and that was it for my NCAA football for the year (total time - 2 minutes)
- Oogling the computers at dell.ca . I've had my old Pentium 3 for almost 7 years now and I'm very very tempted to splurge. A few things are holding me back though. For starters, it was one of the last gifts my dad gave to me, it still is ok for basic Internet, music, and WP, and I'm a mizerly chap if you ever met one! Not to the point of skivving on clothes though (My visa bill can prove that).
-Returning hundreds of dollars of merchandise to H&M and Urban Outfitters. Though after going online, I must have that Bayside Tigers hoodie!
- Conquering Madden. I've actually beaten Zan 3/4 times this week. Mind you, the third win was one of those where he really was winning, but eased up for the tie to make it interesting.
- The Big Win - My first real conquering occured when I was the Redskins against Zan's Bears. I was whupping him 41-20 at which point he decided to bring out his A+++ game, tying the game with 0:00 on the clock. For some reason, the game decided he still had to kick it off to me, at which point he attempted a squib kick to kill the clock. I end up having Chris Cooley (a slow TE) get the ball and bamboozle his way to the end zone for the game winning TD. Zan is STILL pissed at that loss!
Next time you want to hear a humorous interpretation of video game theatrics, ask us about Allan Houston and NBA 2k2.
Alright, I'm rambling now. Off to watch the Doctor Who Xmas Special. Talk to y'all later

Hiya Nav, sorry to hear about your uncle and the stroke.. it can be an incredibly hard thing to go through. I'm glad to hear though, that he's in good spirits, that makes such a big difference. What hospital is he in, hwo knows, maybe he'll be one of my patients, lol. I can tell him of all the fun times we've had working for the Jays, LoL. Again, my condolences on the death, even thought he was only a friend of the family. Now, my problem with this post lies within two sentences, let's backtrack shall we? You said, "Not to the point of skivving on clothes though (My VISA bill can prove that)" Then immediately afterwards you say, " Returning hundreds of dollars of merchadise to H&M and Urban Outfitters." Hmmm...... Makes ya think, doesn't it? Maybe I'm just too tired to see where it's not contradictory. Anyways, I gotta run to work...and take the dog out before I leave. Oh, before I forget, what are you doing next weekend?
