Yes, I'm still alive...
Hey yaars!
While the relationship with my blog tends to be on-again, off-again, I wanted to let everyone know that I'm doing just fine. Yes, I'm a little ticked that Santa missed the Rathore household (again!), but it was expected. What with us being non-gentile and all, we're use to having Decembers without gifts. Luckily we had Eid this year though!
After a bit of searching through my collection, here's a little sample of photos of yours truly throughout the last few months. You can actually see genuine happiness for once :P

The Super Suite at the Jays home finale this season. It was a great ending to an interesting season. "Wake Me up When September Ends" was playing when the snap was taken.
This was taken in the beginning of October, outside of a Carlton Cards shop. They were actually selling the Halloween butler for $150! Having said that, Jamie and I were tempted when we saw it for 50% off a few weeks later.
The Rathore's first of many pictures at Raptors games...
Yours truly getting prepared for Eid prayers. And no, this was not a kayfabed snap, I really didn't know Zan had a camera in his hands

Zan and I after arriving home from Eid prayers
It would be impossible to compress a month's worth of moments in a few paragraphs, but I'll try - here are the mini-notes :
- Jermaine O'Neal is a very big guy. I know 6'10" is tall, but you have to see it to believe it.
- My forever impending nuptials seem to have taken a dramatic turn. Family friends this Eid made it a serious talking point. Now that I have steady employment (touch wood), it appears everyone's on the lookout. Of course this all went out the window two days later during an argument at home when my mom angrily screamed that she'd never punish a girl by marrying her to me! How sweet my moms can be!
- I've now gotten props on TWO MLSE intranet podcasts. While the cynics would note that it was a clerical error (twice announced as a new hire), I see it as a case of foreshadowing!
- People have got to learn to be more polite. Since when has it been ok to slide inside a closing door without pushing it open for the person behind you?
- Raptors games are awesome to watch in person. Maybe it's the honeymoon effect, as everything seems rosy these days, but it's just a joy to watch live sports without worrying about running back to the office to stress over something mundane.
- Somehow I lucked into finding a copy of Guitar Hero 3 (with guitar) and bought it for Zan this Eid/Christmas. While he had his typical 'don't-care' attitude to receiving the game, he's more hooked than I am. We're having a blast on Easy level and have no bloody idea how we're going to be able to play DragonForce on the Hard setting!
- I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the whole situation with Mississauga and the terrible series of events involving the Parvez family. While I don't know every detail (much like everyone else), I think we all should just chill and stop casting aspersions. It's very easy to blame a religion or culture on misdeeds, especially when that religion or culture is always seen on TV in a negative light. I don't condone the action, but I also don't believe we should be quick to send the father to the gallows. I can only imagine what remorse he must feel in the aftermath and pray that God can forgive him for such a terrible act.
I'm not sure if I could follow up that last point with anything humorous, which is why I'll leave my wit for another post. This time hopefully there won't be a 30-day delay!
Hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas!
